NeuroSENSE, an electroencephalogram based cerebral monitor, in additionnal to cerebral oxymetry in pediatric cardiac surgery
نویسنده
چکیده
Considering the improvements in cardiac surgery over the last few decades, we are now able to care most of the congenital cardiac diseases. However, the occurrence of neurological disabilities in the postoperative period remains high. Even if improvements have been made for the prevention of such complications at the short term, the long term neurological outcome remains a challenge for the next few years.

A Study of Cerebral Performance Categories Based on Initial Rhythm and Resuscitation Time Following In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest in a State Hospital in Turkey
Background: The cerebral performance category (CPC) score is widely used in research and quality assurance to assess neurologic outcome following cardiac arrest. However, little is known about the results of the CPC in Turkey. Objective: This study aimed to determine whether the CPC is associated with the initial rhythm and resuscitation time following re...

Pediatric neurological disorders including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injury are defined as a heterogenous group of diseases, of which some are known to be genetic. The two significant features represented for stem cells, leading to distinguish them from other cell types are addressed as below: they can renew themselves besides the ability to differentiate into cells wi...

متن کاملCerebral hemodynamic in patients with major β-Thalassemia using transcranial Doppler sonography
Background: β-thalassemia, a severe form of anemia, is an inherited blood disorder characterized by growth retardation, splenomegaly, and bone abnormalities. Complications related to treatment-induced iron overload also affect the quality of life of patients with major β-thalassemia. Some recent studies indicated cerebral hemodynamic disorders and increased risk of stroke in these patients. The...
متن کاملA Randomized Controlled Trial Comparison of NeuroSENSE and Bispectral Brain Monitors During Propofol-Based Versus Sevoflurane-Based General Anesthesia.
BACKGROUND NeuroSENSE is a depth of anesthesia monitor that uses automated electroencephalogram quantification. The Wavelet-based Anesthetic Value for Central Nervous System (WAVCNS) index calculated by this monitor is based on wavelet analysis of a normalized electroencephalogram signal in the γ-frequency band. The aim of this study was to determine the extent of disagreement between the Bispe...
